I would like one of these to be my friend. They would understand about being “larger than normal”.
Hi everyone!
I know it’s been a long time but I’ve created a Facebook page and have been spending a lot of time there and at the PARK! Visit me at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Bella-The-Great-Dane/303579073050720 and like me for daily posts.
I’ve been growing and am now about 90#. I still like to sit atop my humans and then make a lot of groaning noises…I don’t understand why?!?! I’m still only 6 months old.
Katelyn and I finished my second round of puppy training classes and joined the Los Gatos Great Dane Drill Team. We walk a 4 mile walk every Sunday morning with approx 6 other Great Danes and practice drills for the Holiday Parade in December. I will probably need all the practice I can get cause I’m so young
We go to the park 1-2 times a day and then Dave walks me in the AM and at night. OOOHH – and I have been going to Downtown Dogs 1-2/week to see my friends there and play. BOY…is THAT tiring. Geez. So basically, I eat, go potty, play and SLEEP. I sleep a lot.
Well, that’s it for now…don’t forget to check out my FB page…I’ll try to check in more regularly here

Hello everyone! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
I made a new friend today
My mom’s best friend(Beckie) has a dog too and her name is Emma. She is a Fox Red Lab, and so energetic! We went to Livermore to visit and ran in the Wetlands for a long time. I found out that I’m not very fond of rivers…I like the dry land better. We played non-stop for over 3 hours and then I fell fast asleep on the way home. I’m still moving pretty slowly….yaaawwnnnn! I can’t wait to go back and visit some more with Emma and Beckie.
Also, tomorrow is the start of my second set of puppy classes. We will work on sit, stay, down and the one my family MOST needs…COME! I love ignoring them when they say that (unless they have a really juicy treat for me). They must get better with that command…I’m sure Jen will teach them very well.
Hi guys!
I’ve been going to the dog park a lot lately and I’ve been finding lots of new friends
Usually I befriend a puppy and we roll around and teach each other how to play. It’s great fun! I get to go in the BIG DOGS side…well, cause I’m so big! And my humans have a great time trying to name all the other breeds and generally making sure I don’t get beat up. Right now, I’m about as tall as most grown 60# dogs…but they seem to have more “umph” and can set me off balance pretty easily. I come home looking a little green with little pieces of grass in my coat.
I thought you might enjoy this picture Katiiiieee-lyyynnn took of me and a Vizsla puppy about 1-1/2 weeks ago. I swear this is real…no touchie-ups. I LOOK LIKE A LOBSTER or a praying mantis…it’s weird huh? My ears are all floppy too
But soo funny! Anyhow…enjoy this nice spring weather cause summer is coming!

Mom was trying to find the cat in this picture…I found it and was trying to show her…she wouldn’t listen but I found it FASTER than her – woot woot! Can you guys find it too? Tell me if you do and how long it took you…we dogs are so SMART!

It’s been awhile since I last wrote…I’ve been busy GROWING! See before and after pictures of my first dog bed below…and that was a few weeks ago! Lots of other stuff has happened too…
We finished the 1st set of puppy classes…my family got their diploma and I’m very happy with their progress! We will start our 2nd set in March – can’t wait to see what Jen is going to teach my family then…woo hoo! Below is a picture of Jonathan walking with me during my last class. Boy I look a lot smaller than I am now!
We have started to go to the Dog Park pretty often. I have made a lot of new friends and am learning how to run in a pack. Some of the dogs are bigger than me…but not many. There are new rules I am learning…dog rules are different than people rules. Like, I guess I am supposed to play with the dogs and not their owners so much…weird as the owners like me and want to pet me while some of the dogs aren’t always so nice
But I’m learning and it sure does wear me out…which seems to make my family VERY happy. Below is a picture of the dog park…nice and clean and big.
Ok…’nough for now. So excited for the nice weather. I get to lay out in the backyard and eat grass…which I then usually throw up…not sure why I do this??? Enjoy the weekend friends – woof woof!

P.S. My mom has stopped making me wear those sweaters…she says I’m old enough now and the weather is nicer now…thank gawd!
Two things to update you on….
1) Yesterday’s 2nd puppy class was a hit! As you can see, Dave was the student today…he learned how to walk me on my leash and he did VERY well! I could tell he was a little nervous at first but he learned the rules pretty fast…he is a great student! Jen did a wonderful job teaching the humans how to handle us…again!
2) This morning mom got up and fed me…and was ready to start her work day…I was not ready! I wanted to play. I sat patiently on MY chair (I think it used to be Dave’s…but now is officially mine…while I can still fit on it) and waited for mom to notice me…and waited…and waited…and then she pulled out her “talkie thingie” and it went CLICK! Then she laughed at me and we played for awhile until Dave took me for my morning walk. I think mom thought I looked cute…duh!

Hi everyone! My mom has been wanted to go hiking in Los Gatos before I was even borned, so I’m glad I finally got her to go this week
She seems to like sitting at her desk more than walking out in the fresh air…doing the work thing…go figure. We hiked in the forest and it was so cool! The trails were straight UP and the sides of the trails were straight DOWN…scary! I wanted to run into the trees, but mom won’t let me. She talk about little bugs called ticks and ouchy plants that would give me the itchies. We met a lot of new people and some other pooches…they all seemed very comfortable on the trails but momma and I were out of breath! We need to get used to the exercise….whew! I can’t wait to go back….
